Distribution of curve symbols

Post by TelemachusSneezed »

When one wants to differentiate between plots using curve symbols, is there a way to not associate each and every data point with a symbol? For instance, when I have a 1000 data points for a very high-resolution curve, the symbols all moosh together into one very thick line. It would be more appropriate to have the ability to distribute symbol placement according to, say, a certain X-axis interval.

Yes. In the Symbol/Linestyles dialog in the options menu, in the lower left hand corner of the dialog, there is a "Symbol Frequency" control where you can tell it to place a symbol every other point or every 1000 points. Not sure about doing this in a macro or programming, but it's probably there too.
