Post by srjust »

as i need to identify each trace on a multiple plot graph, is there a way to move the curve labels to any given location to keep the text off the axis numbers
the same goes for note locations

Curve labels (those entered in the "Curve label" box on the Legend/Labels dialog) are fixed in place and cannot be moved. As an alternative you might want to use point labels (Text>Label Points), which can be placed anywhere.

You can click and drag the legend or text notations (Text>Add/Edit Note) anywhere you like.

PS: Another user pointed out that clicking-and-dragging won't work with button-activated notes (which is true). To move a button-activated note you can either:

1) Right-click on the button, select "Button activated" to deselect that option, drag the note wherever you want, right-click again and select "Button activated", or

2) Right click on the button and select Edit, then enter the X and Y coordinates of the note. Those coordinates can be expressed as data space or plot space (0,0=upper left corner, 1,1=lower right corner).
