Mixing plot types

Post by Andrew Lindsay »

Is there any way to create a surface graph with a scatter graph of points and labels?

What I want to achieve is a surface that shows an applicable region, then I want to plot individual datapoints showing them to be above/below the surface, and label them individually.

Is there any way to do this using DPlot or DPlot Jr.

Or does anyone know of any package that will let me do that?

Regards

No, there isn't. You can show the data points on a surface plot by checking "Data points" under "Draw" on the Contour Options dialog, but you can't currently have 2 data sets in a surface plot.

I can't say for certain but my guess is TecPlot (http://www.tecplot.com) will do that.
