I have just implemented similar kludgy fix in Access, as I am running it in two different environments with dplotlib in different places. However, good news is that our move to win 7 isn't a move to 64 bit office. We are moving to 32 bit Office 2010 (I just found out) so I think we should be OK ...

We are about to make a move to win 7 64 bit. I use DPlot Dplotjr And Dplotlib called from MS Access and Excel. Are there any known holes I can avoid falling down with a bit of timely advice?

In the Symbol/LineStyles dialog, there are a set of standard sysmbols, and then 3 windings fonts. Is there way to add a cusom symbol, and/or define such a symbol

OK. I can already see how that won't be good for a lot of circumstances.

How about just selecting them in the select label box in the point labels dialog? Select holding shift key down. No need to do it graphically eh?

In the menu item text->Label points, the Copy and Label All buttons operate on all existing labels, or ALL points in ALL curves. Is there any chance we could have a facitlity to operate on a selection of points, or on, maybe, a specific curve or curves?

I'll try to find out. Part of the problem is that the people who do it may not understand the question. If they did they might not do it - probably common in larger organisations

I did wonder about that. I figured other stuff might want to write to HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Excel is installed on the same machine as DPLOTjr
here. This problem also occurs with the full DPLOT on one laptop - but that alos didn't seem to be licensed properly - another account problem?

Most likely you are correct, as you so often are.

However, the Thought Police here stop us from adding keys to the registry, so the self correcting action is thwarted. I think that's what is happening, as the message just repeats each time we run the addin.

I will attempt to get them to correct it.

Further to me moaning about our security - "they" have recently installed DPLOTJr on some machines, When I try to use the Excel add-in there, I get a message about "No Registry Entries for any of HKEY_CURRENT_USER..bla blah..DPLOTJr.

Problem solved. Put the dll somewhere central. Change all the declare ... dplotlib to the specific location.

You are, of course, correct. I just went and checked how I had installed dplotlib (from dplotjr) with Access and it is where it can find it. You've given me a couple of options. I must be getting a bit vague.

My questions, inteded to clarify, just muddied the water. The XL side is all OK. I realise now that dplotlib.xla is what you get for the XL addin, and it doesn't need the dll. It just happens that on my personal laptop, where I am in control, and not the TP, dplotlib.dll appeared in the xl addins ...

And it is a local install. I should have mentioned this

1) does dplotlib come with the normal licensed dplot install dplotfull_setup.exe?
2) Is there a security reason why the install would not put dplotlib in the dplot addin directory?

I am talking it up. I have a proposal to buy a couple of lcienses here in the pipeline right now. But as you know, government doesn't move quickly, even down here on the world's bottom.

If JIdriss wants my lvlib, I'm happy to zip it up and send it - just give me the mechanism.

My labview (8.5) DID succeed in making Dplotlib labview library, and it issued the report at the end as follows
"Your generated files are installed in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\user.lib\dplotlibx

Parsing header file warnings:
No errors/warnings occurred ...

In spite of the best effortd of mother nature, we are still high and dry in Canberra (1800 feet elevation). I do feel for those poor folk in Japan at the moment.

When I save a contour plot as a jpg, the image appears to be slightly clipped, so that it loses the text of the numbers on the legend at the right hand side (version 2.3.0.3)

In fact, if one has a little patience (I went to lunch), labview does its work and produces an lvlib with the required functions in it as VIs, except a few of the bitmap ones (further work). Dragging D plot Plot.vi onto a diagram and doing a "create constant" on the terminal for the Dplot structure ...
