In the menu item text->Label points, the Copy and Label All buttons operate on all existing labels, or ALL points in ALL curves. Is there any chance we could have a facitlity to operate on a selection of points, or on, maybe, a specific curve or curves?

For all points on one or more curves this is a trivial change (he says, crossing his fingers): Add a "Label selected curves" button, make the "Curve" list box multiple-selection and operate only on those curve(s).

But for selected points I don't know that anything will please everybody. I could offer the opportunity to drag a box around the points you want, but I can easily think of scenarios where a box won't cut it. Something to think about.

How about just selecting them in the select label box in the point labels dialog? Select holding shift key down. No need to do it graphically eh?

OK. I can already see how that won't be good for a lot of circumstances.
