Variable curve color

Post by ask2 »

Hi

I am plotting cyclic data and to improve visibility I would like to gradually change the curve color.
Is this possible?

So the curve might start as red and end as blue and change from red to blue along the way.

Thanks

No, sorry, there's no way to do this... at least not with line segments.

If you only want symbols, you could do this with a bubble plot. You'd first need to create a 2nd curve to serve as the bubble amplitudes. If you want the color changing from left to right then you'd use Y=X on Generate>Y=f(X). Then select Options>Bubble plot, select your real curve under "Which curve" and the fake Y=X curve under "Bubble amplitudes from". Set the symbol size for the low and high value to the same size, and be sure to select a symbol type or you'll get no change.
