Subject says it all really. What I'm looking for is the ability to simply and easily plot:

1. A family of Mohr's Circles and
2. p-q (s-t) plots with a best fit line showing cohesion and friction angle.

I haven't given it a grilling, but that seems to work extremely well !

There's not much doubt that when I do this, the next guy will say "why when I append this plot are the extents saved with that plot not used?".

Naaah ...:-) ... intuitively the master should be the plot with the preferred preferences. As long as you state this is the case, then folks will ...

Has there been a reversion back to old behaviour, as I tried appending some grf plots again and was hoping that the plot that all the preferences in the plot I was appending TO, i.e. "the master plot" if you like, would be saved, but the master takes on the preferences of the appended plot(s ...

One feature that's currently lacking: it is my understanding that Brits typically show the X axis increasing from left to right (no doubt just trying to be difficult!). That isn't possible with version 2.0.1.4, but will be soon.

Yeah that works better thanks, provided that I do not play with the Intervals again after the first generation. (Sure was bad with the sparse data, the extents were -100 to + 10 times the actual values).

I have just tried this (using just x,y, z in 3 Excel Columns) and got a similar problem with jumping out and no plot generated.

The other thing that is a a bit wierd is the contour plot scale it (automatically) chooses seems to be way way too big and not commensurate with the Z ranges ...

ONE:

I am using the Grain Size Dist (nice:-)) and made a Baseline Grading Envelope all one colour (pink), line Type (Solid), and saved the Preferences and grf.

I then made a series of grading curves for SandyGRAVEL, all one line Type (Large Dash) and Colour (RED), saved the ...

So how can I overlay them all together (except for trying to graph them all from the same spreadsheet, but actually I'd prefer NOT to do this)? There doesn't seem to be a format other than grf which makes sense?

I mean if DPLOT can do one + one with all that data and I saved that and appended ...

I am using v2.01.2. I can replicate this. I am using saved .grf files.
If I open any one and try to overlay the the other three, it behaves as above. I will send you 4 plots. If I do it 1 by 1 one, it works.

Right, I have created a bunch of separate Tripartite Plots, but I want to overlay say 4 curves on one other existing one. If I choose the append function, I can do this for ONE plot over another.

But if I choose multiple files (which it allows me to do), it still only appends ONE curve ...

Before doing so my guess is that the DPlot menu just got wiped out during the current Excel session and would have been restored if you had restarted Excel.

Yeah it seems to be doing that sometimes even without this update. It comes back if I go into Excel addins, uncheck Dplot, close, re-enter ...

Recently updated Excel with XLAddinSQLServicesSetup.exe (just for laughs, I don't need it). DPLOT menu in Excel disappeared. Uninstalled the SQL thing, DPLOT came back again. (Note to self, don't install stuff you don't need, dummy).

Not sure if there are any folks who might USE the SQL ...

A macro recorder might be a useful idea in general, but recording user actions in DLL's separate from DPlot (which the curve fit plugin is) would be a complex problem subject to too many errors. At least... that's my short answer. I'll take a harder look at this as time ...
