Fill Between Curves

I'm trying to highlight when my time series drops below 900000. The time series ends with the last few values below 900000, however, there is no filling under those values. I can email the grf file used to create the graph if that helps.

Thanks,
Richard

I have a question about axes.
If I use Options > Grid Lines or Box > Axes Only, is there a way to get rid of the extra little line that sticks out on the axes? Below is an example...

Sorry for being cryptic with that reply. I was mainly thinking that the print multiple option was limited to printing to a device rather than a graphics file. If I want to get multiple graphs in an image file, I usually print to my SnagIt virtual printer. Also, the user cannot create a single annota...

Multiple Plots

Would there by a way to program a new type of window in dplot that would not itself be a new plot window, but be an aggregation of other dplot windows that are already open? For example, suppose I had 4 plot windows with plots of 4 different data sets. And I want to customize and edit/annotate the f...

Your suggestion lead me to discover Text Placeholders for automatically calculating information in titles and notes. That's a really handy tool that I was unaware of. I know writing a manual is alot of work, but your blog is helpful from time to time. Maybe you could host a quarterly webinar (gotome...

Thanks. I wasn't familiar with the bubble plot, but now I am. :) Is there a way to have the legend express what the range of symbol color or size is based on? For example, in the graph below, how would I show that the color ramp ranges between 0.5 and 2.0 inches per hour? http://i28.tinypic.com/9lbq...

symbol class

Is it possible to have an XY scatter plot (or perhaps a bar chart) use a 3rd column of data to define the symbol style, size, or maybe color? Seems like this could be an extension of the XYZ scatterplot functionality whereby the Z field does not define a new dimension, but rather a class for symbol ...

A yes/no choice for the presence of borders would seem to be the most logical. There's probably no need to have a color selection option..

Is there any way to remove the black border that is automatically drawn around each 3-D bar? With a large number of data, the black borders take up a large percentage of the pixels in the graphic.

I rearranged the data so that I could make a ZGrid plot from Excel rather than using the XYZSurface plot. The macro command works as expected on the ZGrid.

Thanks for the tip!

Any suggestion for controlling the thickness of the bars?

I have the latest DPlot update installed. I plot my rectangularly gridded values as an XYZSurface, then run the macro commands: Contour3D(1) ContourMethod(4) ContourBarWidth(0.5,0.5) The 3D view works for the first line of the macro, however, nothing changes when ContourMethod(4) is executed. Is the...

Any ideas or suggestions?

The regular grid of square cells with values defined by their "z value" is essentially a raster format plot.

Checker Board Style

I have data that are in rows by months and columns by years. Rather than plotting them as a contour surface or a mesh, I'd like to plot it where each data occupied its own square, like the surface of a checker board. The following plot was generated as a Z scatter, with the azimuth and angle turned ...

Some pretty cool plots can be created by tweaking the opacity, colors, and symbol sizes.

Thanks David for taking time to add this feature to DPlot!

Just wondering if symbol opacity might be a useful feature for others.

I've got a need again for showing density of a scatter plot.

One simple solution might be to allow the user to define opacity for the data point symbols. A choice of large symbol size, no symbol border and moderate symbol opacity would create a type of density plot. The more points near each other, the more their symbols would overlap and create a darker shade.

I'm glad you like the idea. :D

I wish I had the time to offer a hand.

My suggestion would be to try to use and reuse the same or similar data through multiple examples. That would give the reader a connection between the different ways to visualize the same data with DPlot.
